Help for Veterans in Need of Homes
Armed Forces Veterans Homes Foundation is working hard to help increase the supply of homes for veterans in need. America faces the largest aging veteran population in our history. Roughly 10 million veterans are 65 or over, which is nearly 40 percent of all the veterans in America. This proportion is projected to remain unchanged for the next 20 years. The number of veterans aged 85 and over will have increased by 600 percent from 1990 to 2010 and will total nearly two million in all.
No surprise that there is a major shortage of homes available for veterans in need of some form of assisted living facility. This foundation is doing everything it can to help. They, The Armed Forces Veterans Homes Foundation (AFVHF), is working in partnership with the National Association of State Veterans Homes (NASVH) to provide education for administrators, developing fundraising programs, and they use grant money to support their cause as well.
Where they can use help is with donations and volunteers. To learn more about this nonprofit helping veterans visit their Website: Armed Forces Veterans Homes Foundation
